Engraving is the art of removing metal with a graver. You can of course create a design on metal by various means to include acid etching or by using a laser.  Although called engraving, both of the latter methods are actually etching. Many modern guns have what is called an engraving on them, but they’re actually etched. The etched process results in a flat, dull and cookie cutter marking. One amongst hundreds of pieces.
